I was born in Ohio. By the age of five I was drawing and coloring palm trees and exotic animals. It's no surprise that I ended up living in a tropical and inspiring environment like Hawaii.

During my high school years I enrolled in every art class I could fit in and after graduation continued to take college courses at Kent State University. I acquired my B.A. degree in Fine and Applied Art with a minor in Illustration at the University of Akron in 1988. I had several very talented instructors that inspired me and encouraged me in my work. Art History had a large effect on me as I experienced styles that I moved towards and others I pushed away from. Some of my favorite artists include Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema, Maxfield parish, the Leyendecker brothers, Monet, John Singer Sargent, Edmund Dulac, etc...

I held several tortuous jobs before painting full-time and that alone inspired me to do what I love most, paint. I also did a lot of freelance work for a lot of different businesses. Thank you to everyone that hired me or purchased my work. I painted my first mural for a colleague at a dept store for her child's room and never turned back. I enjoy the variety of painting on canvas/board, faux finishing and especially murals. I love enhancing a room to balance an interior designers work or changing the environment to meet my clients needs. The best part of my work is working closely with the client and/or interior designer to create a custom painting or effect that suits their special needs and interests. I moved to Hawaii in 1999 and have had the privilege of working with wonderful and amazingly talented architects, interior designers and many interesting, intelligent and exciting business and home owners. With the inspiring Hawaiian landscape and the fabulous people I've met here, I hope to continue creating here forever.
